INTRODUCTION:

The PMS ZMZ-002581 is an intelligent marine switchboards automation and versatile power management product, basis on the “FIELDBUS” topology (standardized as the IEC_61158); hiring the “PROFINET” Siemens standard as the communicating protocol, developed over the marine-approved SIEMENS PLC hardware and comprising ingenuity and technologically advanced marine strategies.

The Power Management System (PMS-ZMZ-002581) on a vessel equipped with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) ensures the efficient generation, proper distribution, and manage the consumption of electrical power onboard. The PMS coordinates various power sources and loads to maintain stability and reliability in the vessel’s power network.

Moreover, the Power Management System on a vessel using PLCs ensures the efficient and reliable operation of the ship’s electrical power system. It integrates data acquisition, processing, control actions, and real-time monitoring to manage power generation and distribution, optimize performance, and maintain safety to the switchboards.

 

 

 

  • Our product includes one or more (as per owner request) Human Machine Interface (HMI) for interfacing to the operator as the switchboard and generators parameters and conditions monitoring means, which is in the hierarchy, located on the middle layer.
  • Central PLC(s) positioned in the top layer of the schemed hierarchy, skillfully manipulating the control signals over the switchboard devices circuit breakers and generators and acquiring imperative data to monitor the overall process from several equipment.
  • The lowest layer in the hierarchy, as the system’s inputs/outputs consisting of data acquisition units, transducers, actuators and auxiliary control devices.

In the switchboard the “AUTO_SHARING DEVICE” (to makes the generators synchronized), Air Circuit Breakers (to achieve the power switching in between the bus bars, generators and consumers) and safety devices (i.e. the Siemens “SIPROTEC”) working in conjunction to each other and PLC monitors the automation process.

Necessary designated alarms and monitoring parameters can be defined and assigned to several ACB(s) and Bus bars.

 

 

 

PMS-ZMZ-002581 SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE:

  • The system consists of the central PLC(s), composing the PMS intelligent software, comprising the advanced marine strategies as the higher layer and several Sub-PLC(s), which are connecting to the central PLC(s) as the medium layer, through the PROFINET.
  • There might be one or more (as per design demands) sets of HMI available as the monitoring station (s), which will be located on the switchboard front panel door (as the interface to the operators) and other auxiliary protection devices like Siemens “SIPROTEC”, which sets the benchmark for protecting, automating, and monitoring the network.

All concerned devices in the switchboard control and monitoring process will be connected to the central PLC(s) via the PROFINET data bus. The interface to the exterior systems and higher layer Networks also comprises two independent interconnections through the PROFIBET CANBUS (i.e. the network-based control and monitoring systems the AMS ZMZ-002582 and the RCS/SSU ZMZ-002577/002579).
